The University awarded a contract for the CircleIn studying app.
CircleIn is an easy to use studying app and website, where students study online together and seek to help their classmates who are struggling.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) It is a tool that can help improve the retention and graduation rates of students at UIC by better utilizing the resources we have available. This project is being funded by a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant.
