The University awarded a contract for a surgical navigation system.
Medtronic Stealth Station S8 is a surgical navigation system that enables surgeon to precisely track the location of surgical instruments throughout a procedure.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) This instrument will provide the hospital with the latest next generation platforms. The Stealth Station S8 system can work with the O-Arm Surgical Imaging system. It is essential for the hospital to continue offering 3D intraoperative imaging for the spine, neurosurgery, and ENT patients.
