This service is for the processing of checks for approved payment requests from the Public Health Service for patients in the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) This service allows the COM Peoria to help patients sustain housing which is primary to positive and healthy outcomes of their HIV disease. The assistance program also provides educational opportunities to our medical students illustrating the importance of safe housing and the significant impact it has on health outcomes.
