The University awarded a contract for a ultrasound machine.
Programmable ultrasound machine. This is a programmable ultrasound machine with the capability of ultrasound send and receive (for ultrasound imaging) as well as receive-only mode (for photo-acoustic imaging) and internal signal amplification and image reconstruction capability.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) This instrument is needed to build a photo-acoustic imaging system in the Department of Bioengineering. We need a programmable ultrasound machine with the capability of ultrasound send and receive (for ultrasound imaging) as well as receive-only mode (for photo-acoustic imaging) and internal signal amplification and image reconstruction capability.
