The University awarded a contract for BZX Fluorescence Microscope and Head.
The BZX fluorescence microscope and head will be used in the Department of Pathology for research purposes.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) This research tool will be of high value to the Vander Griend research enterprise, including generating data for pending grant proposals and manuscript submissions. This microscope will be used immediately upon arrival.
