There has been an increase in the volume of clinical transplants which in turn has led to more training services required for the patients beyond the original estimate.

The University awarded a contract for exercise training services.
Exercise training services in relation to a clinical trial that examines quality of life after receiving a kidney transplant.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) This procurement will allow the University to accurately compare study subject results and metrics. It is imperative to our clinical trials study.
