Cut checks for approved payment requests from Positive Health Solutions (PHS) for patients. Housing Opportunities for People with AIDS (HUD ? HOPWA). The assistance program provides educational opportunities to medical students illustrating the importance of safe housing and how it significantly impacts health outcomes.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) Allows the department to help patient sustain housing which is primary to positive and healthy outcomes of their HIV disease.
