The University awarded a contract for consulting services.
Consulting services for grant funded research. The consultant will provide services for our ACTIV 4C study and will continue to do so while expanding the scope to another NIH funded study called RECOVER.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) This will enable us to fulfill our contractual obligations to the NIH and meet deliverables. Our NIH funded trial budgets for both ACTIV 4C and RECOVER included project management consultants and were approved.
