The University awarded a contract for the Sierra Library Services Platform.
Sierra Library Services Platform - Integrated library Systems - Management and administration software for bibliographic records, serials, electronic journals and databases circulation and patron management acquisitions.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for periodicals, books, subscriptions, database licenses, and other publications procured for use by a university library or academic department, except for expenditures related to procuring textbooks for student use or materials for resale or rental. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(5)) UIC School of Law Library is to migrate its library services platform to a different vendor utilized by the UIC University Library and other members of CARLI (Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois). The transition is planned to occur in summer 2023. It is essential that the UIC School of Law Library be able to continue to catalog and manage its collection in order to provide library collection access and services to its students and faculty.
