The University awarded a contract for MicroCT Scanner.
MicroCT Scanner - Large Sample Capacity/Fast Scanning - The capability for high resolution, three-dimensional visualization and quantification of a materials microstructure is critical for state-of-the-art biological, physical, and biomedical research.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) UIC has a goal of establishing a robust, multi-scale instrumentation for materials and biologic tissue analyses. The capability for high resolution, three-dimensional visualization and quantification of a materials microstructure is critical for state-of-the-art biological, physical, and biomedical research. This equipment will further the UIC mission to be a leading research center.
