The University awarded a contract for Collection of eBooks.
Taylor & Francis platform holds an extensive collection of eBooks across all disciplines, including science, engineering, medical, humanities, and social sciences, which support research, teaching, and learning for UIC faculty and students.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for periodicals, books, subscriptions, database licenses, and other publications procured for use by a university library or academic department, except for expenditures related to procuring textbooks for student use or materials for resale or rental. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(5)) The eBooks available from this vendor covers multiple disciplines campus-wide so students of various majors will be able to take advantage of this benefit.
