The Board of Trustees of U of Illinois Facilities Planning and Programs hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the Hazelwood Drive utilities center - Urbana project.

Project Description
This project is to construct a new utility building as described in the bid documents. This building will have a full basement and one story at grade and it is physically subdivided for two distinct users: one half of the building will be for electrical switch gear and the other half will be for telecommunications switch gear. The extent of this project is only to provide the building and the building specific utilities and site work. All switch gear and material related to the switch gear networks is provided by other contracts. The completion schedule for this project is extremely time sensitive, this project must be substantially complete by August 15, 2000.

Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Tuesday, April 25, 2000. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

A pre-bid conference will be held in room 504 of the Illini Union Bookstore, 807 S. Wright St., Champaign, IL, at 2:00 p.m. prevailing time on Tuesday, April 18, 2000. Representatives of the owner and the architect/engineer will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
