The Board of Trustees of U of Illinois Facilities Planning and Programs hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the Allen Hall Elevator Replacements at Urbana Campus project.
Project Description
The project, for which base bids are being taken, consists of: Removal of an existing 5-stop electric traction elevator and replacement in the same shaft with new 5-stop electric traction elevator, doors, motor, drives, controls, etc. In another location in the same building, a 3-stop hydraulic elevator shall be removed and replaced with a new 6-stop hydraulic elevator with associated drives, controls, doors, piston, cylinder, etc. In this location, selective structural and minor demolition to accept the new elevator shaft, as well as new concrete, masonry, doors & hardware and finishing work will also be required. Ancillary work includes plumbing, heating, ventilation, electrical, fire alarm and communications work.

Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Wednesday, January 17, 2001. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.
A pre-bid conference will be held at room #21 Lincoln Ave. Residence Hall, 1005 S. Lincoln Ave., Urbana, IL at 10:00 a.m. prevailing time, on January 4, 2001. Representatives of the owner and the architect/engineer will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures, and bidders will have an opportunity to examine the job site. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
