The Board of Trustees of U of Illinois Facilities Planning and Programs hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the Housing Fire Alarm Replacements at the Urbana Campus project.
The project consists of replacing selected existing fire alarm system devices, replacing (selected) existing and providing (selected) new fire alarm system devices. Also included in the scope of work is reprogramming of the fire alarm control panels to acknowledge and report all new fire alarm devices. This work shall occur in five student housing complexes: (1) Lincoln Hall, (2) Allen Hall, (3) Busey-Evans Hall, (4) Peabody Residence Halls, (5) Gregory Drive Residence Halls. Refer to Division 1, Section 1000 of the specifications for a complete, detailed breakdown of the work included in the base bid and alternates for this project.

Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Tuesday, April 24, 2001. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.
A pre-bid conference will be held at the jobsite at Lincoln Avenue Residence Hall, conference room #21, 1005 S. Lincoln Ave., Urbana, IL at 10:00 a.m. prevailing time, on Tuesday, April 17, 2001. Representatives of the owner and the architect/engineer will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures, and bidders will have an opportunity to examine the job site. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
