The College of Engineering has identified funds to construct a replacement facility for Warehouse One. The project will construct a new industrial type metal building approximately 90'W x 240'L x 20' H (21,600 gsf) on a structural concrete slab. The building is to be fully temperature controlled and all water, steam, chilled water, and electricity are available at the site. The building is a 2-phased replacement of the existing Warehouse One facility currently occupied at this site, which is approximately 16,000 gsf. Phase I is an immediate replacement for the Wind Tunnel Lab which exists within Warehouse One at approximately 6,000 gsf; Phase II is to be an addition to Phase I to complete the remaining 15,600 gsf. The Phase II portion of the building is to accommodate existing engineering labs currently located in existing engineering facilities. It will be necessary to develop a functional program for both phases of the project with the College of Engineering in order to design both Phase I and Phase II. The schedule for Phase I is to be under construction by June 2001 and complete by March 2002; the Phase II schedule is yet to be determined.
