The Board of Trustees of U of Illinois Facilities Planning and Programs hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the Abbott Power Plant Rehabilitation and Upgrade Package 4 at the Urbana Campus project.

Project Description
The project base bid includes demolition and subsequent replacement of existing burners, control systems, and accessories for three 175,000 lb/hr, gas/oil-fired boilers at the University of Illinois Abbott Power Plant at the Urbana campus. This project includes one alternate bid, Alternate No. 1, to furnish and install individual PLC-based monitoring systems for three 175,000 lb/hr, coal-fired boilers.

Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Thursday, September 27, 2001. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

Pre-Bid Conference
A pre-bid conference will be held in Room 206B, Abbott Power Plant, 1117 South Oak Street, Champaign, Illinois at 2:00 p.m. prevailing time, Tuesday, September 4, 2001. Representatives of the owner and the architect/engineer will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
