Description of Project
The scope of the $2.5 million project will involve a renovation of the third floor rooms in the central section of the building. This entire area is used for laboratory research and the newly renovated spaces will retain this basic function. Specific design elements will include complete demolition of existing electrical mechanical and plumbing fixtures as well as the removal of existing cabinets and fixed equipment. The design will relocate wall partitions as necessary to produce lab modules and lab support spaces (coldrooms, preparation rooms, etc.) comparable in size and function to those in Chemical & Life Sciences Building. The total area to be remodeled is approximately 11,500 sq. ft. A Master Plan for the entire building has been completed by an Architect/Engineer and this project will be the first phase.
