Description of Project
UIUC Housing Division has started a multi-phased project to install a card access system to various exterior and security doors in the residence halls. Last year phase I was completed at Daniels Hall, Lincoln Avenue, and Allen Halls. The Housing Division would like to accelerate the installation of the system in the remaining 11 housing complexes. The work involved providing a card access system and door monitoring to selected doors along with door and hardware replacement as needed. The work is anticipated to be completed in three additional phases, Phase II (2002), Phase III (2003) and Phase IV, completing all work on or before August 1, 2004.
