The Board of Trustees of U of Illinois Facilities Planning and Programs hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the Division of Campus Recreation IMPE and CRCE Renovation and Expansion at Urbana project.

Project Description
The project consists of work as follows:

1. Campus Recreation Center on one floor with mezzanine consisting of leisure pool, racquet ball courts, gymnasium, walking track, fitness area, and weight lifting area.

  • New construction connected to an existing building.
  • Remodeling of some existing spaces for new flooring in multi-activity court and multi-purpose rooms.
2.Addition of ground floor, fitness room at first floor, and mezzanine to existing Intramural Physical Education Building minor remodeling within existing spaces.

3.Exterior hardscape and landscape and related sitework.

Bid Proposals
Bids for Divisions II through VI work will be received up to the hour of 2:00 p.m. prevailing time on Thursday, July 24, 2003. Bids for Division I work will be received up to the hour of 2:00 p.m. prevailing time on Tuesday, July 29, 2003. Submit all proposals to the Board of Trustees at:

Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Tuesday, July 29, 2003. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

Pre-Bid Conference
A pre-bid conference will be held Room 128 Physical Plant, 1501 South Oak Street, Champaign, Illinois at 1:30 p.m. prevailing time on Thursday, June 26, 2003. Representatives of the owner and the architect/engineer will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
