The Board of Trustees of U of Illinois Facilities Planning and Programs hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the ACES Library, Information, and Alumni Center.


Project Description

The project consists of a new, free standing multi-use library building and alumni center building containing five (5) levels above grade and a lower level grade with a total floor area of approximately 83,700 GSF. This building has a structural steel frame, concrete foundations, masonry, stone and glass exterior with a combination of a metal and EPDM roofing systems. The work includes site development and landscaping work. A Commissioning Agent is employed by the Owner to schedule/coordinate the construction and commission the building systems. There will be no assignment of the MEP contractors to the general contractor.

Bid Proposals

Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 p.m. prevailing time, on March 17, 1999, for Divisions I through VI work at: Illini Union Bookstore, 807 S. Wright St., Suite 320, Champaign, IL 61820. Submit all proposals to the Board of Trustees at: The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, c/o Office for Project Planning & Facility Management, Illini Union Bookstore, 807 S. Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Wednesday, March 17, 1999. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

A pre-bid conference will be held in room 313 of Mumford Hall, 1301 W. Gregory Dr., Urbana, IL, at 1:30 p.m. prevailing time on March 3, 1999. Representatives of the Owner, the Architect/Engineer, and the Commissioning Agent will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
