The Board of Trustees of U of Illinois Facilities Planning and Programs hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the Chicago Circle Center Remodeling Phase I - Chicago project.

Project Description
This project consists of the replacement of existing exterior glazing at first floor, creation of a new entrance vestibule structure, enclosure of the second floor east patio with custom architectural window wall system, installation of new interior floor finishes in the new patio area, replacement of second floor west exterior patio flooring, replacement of large air handling unit that serves second floor food court and new enclosed patio, remodel UIC bookstore, replace two escalators from first to second floor, provide new heating and air conditioning for the first floor concourse, install new terrazzo flooring at first floor concourse, upgrade lighting and electrical throughout the project.

Bids will be received up to the hour of 10:00 AM local time, on Friday, August 11, 2000. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

A pre-bid conference will be held in Room 244, Paulina Street Building, 1140 S. Paulina Street, Chicago, IL, at 8:30 a.m. prevailing time on Wednesday, July 26, 2000. Representatives of the owner and the architect/engineer will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
