The Board of Trustees of U of Illinois Facilities Planning and Programs hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the Remodel Chemistry Labs 2214, 2228, 2232, and 2236 at the Chicago Campus project.
Project Description
This project consist of selective demolition of interior walls, doors and finishes; removal of laboratory counter casework, preparation of removed laboratory counter casework for reuse in other locations; refurbishment of existing metal laboratory casework; installation of new and used (provided by owner) fume hoods; installation of new laboratory counters casework, storage cabinets and work stations; partial removal of existing ductwork, electrical devices and conduit, plumbing supplies and drains; and other selective demolition as required for the installation of new work. New work includes construction of new concrete masonry walls; new doors and frames; acrylic resin overlay floor system; carpet; painting, acoustic panel ceilings; new lighting and power; new plumbing; revisions to HVAC systems.

Bids for Divisions II, IV, and V will be received up to the hour of 2:00 p.m. prevailing time, on Thursday, March 28, 2002. Bids for Division I will be received up to the hour of 2:00 p.m. prevailing time, on Wednesday, April 3, 2002. Submit all proposals to the Board of Trustees at:

Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Wednesday, April 3, 2002. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.
Pre-Bid Conference
A pre-bid conference will be held in Rm. 244 at 1140 South Paulina Street, Chicago, IL 60612 at 10:00 a.m. prevailing time on Monday, March 18, 2002. Representatives of the owner and the architect/engineer will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
