The Board of Trustees of U of Illinois Facilities Planning and Programs hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the Jewel Surge Space Remodel at the Chicago Campus project.
This project involves renovating the former Jewel food store to accommodate the occupants of Art and Design Hall on a temporary basis (approximately one year). This area will contain an audio/visual/computer lab as well as the printmaking, painting, and sculpture studios, and Gallery 400.
Bids for Division II through Division V work will be received up to the hour of 2:00 p.m. prevailing time, on Monday, August 26, 2002. Bids for Division I work will be received up to the hour of 2:00 p.m. prevailing time, on Friday, August 30, 2002.

Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Friday, August 30, 2002. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.
A pre-bid conference will be held in the former Jewel store on Harrison Street at 10:00 a.m. prevailing time on Thursday, August 15, 2002. Representatives of the owner and the architect/engineer will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
