The Board of Trustees of U of Illinois Facilities Planning and Programs hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the UIC Police Station - South Campus - Remodeling - Chicago project.

Project Description
This project involves interior remodeling of the (historic) Maxwell Street Police Station, including the construction of a Sallyport addition, rebuild and restore exterior entrances, install new hydraulic elevator, remodel existing basement, provide space for future shooting range, and complete minor sitework related to remodeling.

Bid Proposals
Bids will be received up to the hour of 11:00 a.m. prevailing time, on Thursday, May 4, 2000, for Division II through V and Divisions VII and VIII work.

Bids will be received up to the hour of 11:00 a.m. prevailing time, on Monday, May 8, 2000, for Division I work.

Bids will be received up to the hour of 11:00 AM local time, on Monday, May 8, 2000. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

A pre-bid conference will be held at The University of Illinois at Chicago, Physical Plant Building, Room B16E, 1140 South Morgan Street, Chicago, Illinois 60612, at 10:00 a.m. prevailing time, on Wednesday, April 19, 2000. A pre-bid site walk-thru will be held at Maxwell and Morgan Streets at 11:30 a.m. prevailing time on Wednesday, April 19, 2000. Representatives of the owner and architect/engineer will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
