The Board of Trustees of U of Illinois Facilities Planning and Programs hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the Chilled Water System - Phase IV Rehabilitation at the Chicago Campus.
Project Description
The project consists of, but is not limited to, replacement and installation of approximately 27 control valves on existing chilled water-cooling coils. The work will include all demolition, new piping, valving and insulation required. In addition, pipe modifications will be made to convert Buildings 601, 602, 604, 605, 612, 613, 614, 615, 616, 617, 626, 627, 628, 633 and 644. Variable frequency drives will be added to chilled water pumps in Buildings 601, 605 and 628.

Bids will be received up to the hour of 10:00 AM local time, on Thursday, February 1, 2001. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.
A pre-bid conference will be held in the Facilities Management, Physical Plant Building, 1140 South Morgan Street, Conference Room B16, Chicago, Illinois 60607 at 10:00 a.m. prevailing time on Monday, January 22, 2001. Representatives of the owner and the architect/engineer will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
