Project Description
The project consists of the rebid of Release I - Demolition, Excavation, Soil Retention, Substructure, Concrete Superstructure, Structural Steel Penthouse, and Electrical Site Utilities for the College of Medicine Research Building at the Chicago campus.

Prequalification
The prequalification process begins with the prospective bidders' submittal of a Prequalification Application. Copies of the application may be obtained from the Construction Manager: Gilbane Building Company, 8725 West Higgins Road, Suite 700, Chicago, IL 60631, 773-695-3500; Attention: Robert Stuart, Purchasing Agent. The prequalification process will begin Thursday, March 22, 2001.

The prequalification deadline for Rebid Release I is 4:00 p.m. prevailing time on Friday, April 6, 2001. Prequalification applications received after the deadline will be returned unopened to the applicant. Bidders prequalified for the original Release 1 need not resubmit (Substructure, Caissons, Mechanical/Plumbing and Electrical Site Utilities).

Prequalification Notification
After the prequalification deadline, all those applicants who are prequalified for the project will be notified by the construction manager. Bid documents will be distributed by the construction manager to only those applicants who are prequalified.
