Project Description
The project consists of preparation of necessary condition surveys and code audits of existing elevators. Also included will be the development of design documents to replace all machine room and hoistway equipment of the two traction passenger elevators with state-of-the-art equipment to optimize operational and energy efficiency. Architectural enhancements for the machine room, hoistway and elevator pit to conform to applicable code requirements, as well as, a reliable, efficient and redundant air conditioning system for the elevator machine to dissipate the heat generated by the controllers is also required.

Proposals
Firms should submit four (4) copies of the following: a letter of interest, a copy of its CDB prequalification letter, and a 255 form (use CDB SF 255 dated 7/1/99) by 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 6, 2001 addressed to:

Architect/Engineer selection will be consistent with the Architectural, Engineering, and Land Surveying Qualifications Based Selection Act (30 ILCS 535/1).

Only those firms which meet the following qualifications will be considered for selection:

  • Licensed to practice as an Architect/Engineer
  • Prequalified with the State of Illinois Capital Development Board
  • Business presence in Illinois
  • Utilization of AutoCAD compatible system
