The Board of Trustees of U of Illinois Facilities Planning and Programs hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the Structural Biology Instrumentation Building at Chicago project.
Project Description
The project consists of the new construction of a Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Facility to house current and future high field vertical bore nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrometers. In addition to the main spectrometer room, there will be an x-ray crystallography room, a computer room, a small wet lab, office space, a conference room and other associated support spaces. The following 7 divisions of work shall be bid: General, Plumbing, Heating Piping and Temperature Control, Ventilation, Electrical, Fire Protection/Sprinkler, and Utility Site Work.
Bid Proposals
Bids for Divisions II through VII work will be received up to the hour of 10:00 a.m. prevailing time, on Tuesday, April 29, 2003. Bids for Division I work will be received up to the hour of 10:00 a.m. prevailing time, on Friday, May 2, 2003. Submit all proposals to the Board of Trustees at:

Bids will be received up to the hour of 10:00 AM local time, on Friday, May 2, 2003. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.
Pre-Bid Conference
A pre-bid conference will be held in The IIDD Building, Room 166 at 1640 W. Roosevelt Road, Chicago, Illinois 60612-7222 at 10:00 a.m. prevailing time on Tuesday, April 15, 2003. Representatives of the owner and the architect/engineer will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
