The Board of Trustees of U of Illinois Facilities Planning and Programs hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the Westside Research Office Building, Node 1 Telecomm Infrastructure Extension, Chicago.

Project Description
The project consists of work to install horizontal telecommunication distribution (cabling and equipment (copper and fiber) between Node 1 at 1140 S. Paulina Street and the IDF Room in the basement of 1747 W. Roosevelt Rd. and vertical distribution from the IDF room to each FDF room on the five floors of the building, raceway provided. Work also includes providing inner duct in conduit from manhole south of Roosevelt to building IDF room.

Bids will be received up to the hour of 10:00 AM local time, on Monday, May 5, 2003. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

Pre-Bid Conference
A pre-bid conference will be held at Room 244, 1140 South Paulina Street, Chicago, Illinois 60612 at 10:00 a.m. prevailing time on Monday, April 28, 2003. Representatives of the owner and the architect/engineer will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
