The Board of Trustees of U of Illinois Facilities Planning and Programs hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the parking structure/fire station at Urbana campus.
Project Description
The project consists of a parking garage containing six levels of structured parking. The garage shall also house a fire substation on a portion of the first level of the structure. The minimum anticipated number of parking stalls is to be 769. The parking structure shall be cast in place, post-tensioned concrete with a combination of pre-cast architectural spandrel panels, pre-cast thin brick cladding, and pre-cast panels to match fire substation cast stone accents. The fire substation shall be clad in brick to match the parking structure with cast stone accents with a concrete block backing. There will be two elevator/stair towers each with one electric hydraulic elevator. The garage is to be designed as an open parking structure in conformance with BOCA 1996, the UIUC Building Standards for New Construction & Remodeling and other applicable codes indicated therein.
Bid Proposals
Bids will be received up to the hour of 10:00 a.m. prevailing time, on Tuesday, December 7, 1999, for Division II through Division V work. Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 p.m. prevailing time, on Tuesday, December 7, 1999, for Division I work. Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Tuesday, December 7, 1999. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.
A pre-bid conference will be held in room 514 of the Illini Union Bookstore, 807 S. Wright St., Champaign, IL at 11:00 a.m. prevailing time on Tuesday, November 23, 1999. Representatives of the owner and the architect/engineer will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
