The Board of Trustees of U of Illinois Facilities Planning and Programs hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the Single Student Residence Hall Building at the Chicago Campus project.

Project Description
Work will include upgrading the existing Fire Alarm (Div. 5) and installation of a new sprinkler system (Div. 6). Phase I will occur during the summer of 2004 and Phase II during the summer of 2005 (see plans and specs for details).

Bid Dates
Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 p.m. prevailing time, on Tuesday, March 9, 2004, for Division 5 - Electrical (Fire Alarm) and Division 6 - Sprinkler Contract work. Submit all proposals to the Board of Trustees at:

Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Tuesday, March 9, 2004. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

Pre-Bid Conference
A pre-bid conference will be held at the Polk Street Residence Room 212 located at 1933 West Polk, at 1:30 p.m. prevailing time on Thursday, February 26, 2004. Representatives of the owner and building users will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
