Project Description
The project consists of removing existing elevator equipment and installing state-of-the-art, energy efficient and code compliant machines, controllers, signal fixtures, door packages, cab assemblies, safety systems of a group of 2 traction elevators in the Clinical Sciences North Building (CSN) and another group of 2 traction elevators in the Medical Sciences Building (MSA). The scope will also include similar modernization of 2 hydraulic elevators in the Education Performing Arts and Social Work Building (EPASW), 4 hydraulic elevators in the Richard J. Daley Library (LIBRARY), and 4 hydraulic elevators in the Science and Engineering Laboratories Building (SEL). The project also includes the provision by the contractor of a preprogrammed laptop computer diagnostic tool and attic stock consisting of a set of critical printed circuit boards for motion control, group operational control and the door operation system. The project will include installation of year-round air conditioning in machine rooms to prevent temperatures exceeding the maximum equipment operating requirements of the manufacturer, and miscellaneous modernization related renovations.
