The Board of Trustees of U of Illinois Facilities Planning and Programs hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the the Abbott Power Plant - Waste Water Treatment Bid Package 15 project at the Urbana campus project.

Project Description
The project consists of demolition and construction. Demolition includes concrete, structural steel framing, interior masonry and metal panel walls, piping, pumps, electrical wiring, lighting fixtures, electrical equipment, and accessories. Construction consists of new utility tunnel, 22-foot diameter welded steel tank, and remodeling of existing thaw shed to accommodate new equipment and facilities such as two inclined plate clarifier trains, pumps, chemical feed system, process piping, instrumentation, controls, and supporting electrical equipment. New construction also includes providing and installing two filter presses, tanks, and supporting process piping, instrumentation, controls, and facility modifications to support this equipment.

This project includes a project labor agreement that will be executed between the lowest responsive/responsible bidder and the East Central Building and Construction Trades Council. A copy of the Project Labor Agreement is included in the project bid documents, General Project Requirements.

Bid Dates
Bids for Divisions I, II, IV & V work will be received up to the hour of 3:00 p.m. prevailing time, on Tuesday, November 9, 2004. Bids for Division III work will be received up to the hour of 3:00 p.m. prevailing time, on Thursday, November 11, 2004. The owner shall assign the contracts for Contract Divisions I, II, IV & V Work to the Contract Division III (Heating A/C Temp Control Contractor) in accordance with Article 6.2 of the General Conditions. (Refer to Articles 6.2 and 15 of the General Conditions for requirements concerning assignments of contracts.) Submit all proposals to the owner at:

Bids will be received up to the hour of 3:00 PM local time, on Thursday, November 11, 2004. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

Pre-Bid Conference
A pre-bid conference will be held in Room #128, Physical Plant Services Building, 1501 South Oak Street, Champaign, Illinois at 1:00 p.m. prevailing time on Thursday, October 21, 2004. Representatives of the owner and the professional services consultant will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
