The Board of Trustees of U of Illinois Facilities Planning and Programs hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the the Huff Hall Electrical Upgrade at the Urbana campus project.

Project Description
This project consists of selective demolition of masonry partitions, mechanical/ventilation system and electrical components, new CMU partitions, hollow metal doors, frames & hardware, and painting. A new, owner approved, 15KV pad mounted switchgear will be installed by the electrical contractor outside of the building. A new, owner approved, 1000/1333 KVA unit substation will be installed by the electrical contractor inside the new electrical equipment room. Two existing transformers and primary switches and the existing 15KV pad mounted switch will need to be removed. The two existing 120/208V services will be back fed from the new unit substation. This project also includes a new ventilation system for the electrical equipment room. Included in the project is a labor agreement that will be executed between the lowest responsive/responsible bidder and the East Central Illinois Building & Construction Trade Council. A copy of the project labor agreement is included in the project bid documents, General Project Requirements.

Bid Dates
Bids for Divisions III, IV and V work will be received up to the hour of 10:00 a.m. prevailing time, on Tuesday August 3, 2004. Bids for Division I work will be received up to the hour of 2:00 p.m. prevailing time, on Tuesday August 3, 2004. The owner shall assign the contracts for Contract Divisions III, IV and V Work to the Contract Division I (General Contractor) in accordance with Article 6.2 of the General Conditions. (Refer to Articles 6.2 and 15 of the General Conditions for requirements concerning assignments of contracts.) Submit all proposals to the owner at:

Pre-Bid Conference
A pre-bid conference will be held in Seminar Room 112H of Huff Hall, 1206 S. Fourth Street, Champaign, IL 61820 at 10:00 a.m. prevailing time on Thursday, July 22, 2004. Representatives of the owner and the Professional Services Consultant will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
