The Board of Trustees of U of Illinois Facilities Planning and Programs hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the the Pennsylvania Avenue Residence Hall - Window Replacement Phase II at the Urbana campus.
Project Description
This project includes general work only. The general work includes the replacement of existing aluminum window systems with new aluminum window systems at 644 total openings in four separate buildings. The four separate buildings comprise the Pennsylvania Avenue Residence Hall complex. The window systems vary in size and arrangement of fixed and operating sash. All demolition, glazing and sealant work is included in the general work bid. The ENTIRE project is being bid at this time. Installation of windows will be DIVIDED between Summer 2005 and Summer 2006.
Contractors and suppliers shall include ALL coordination and necessary accommodations for this schedule in their bid.
This project includes a project labor agreement that will be executed between the lowest responsive/responsible bidder and the East Central Illinois Building & Construction Trades Council.

Bid documents have been prepared by Moorhead-Gruber Architects, 495 Devonshire Drive, Champaign, IL 61820, (217) 356-3414, hereinafter called the Professional Services Consultant. The bid documents may be obtained from the Professional Services Consultant by depositing a check in the amount of $40 for each set, payable to the Professional Services Consultant.

Prequalification
Each bidder shall prequalify with the owner in accordance with the General Instructions to Bidders (Document 00200).
All bidders shall be prequalified with the owner. New bidders that are not prequalified shall prequalify using the owner's web-based Contractor Annual Prequalification System (CAPS) - http://notes.ocp.uiuc.edu:8888/

The project will be administered using the owner's web-based project management system. PRZM was developed to maximize the potential of the Internet in allowing project team members to access and exchange project information. PRZM supports team collaboration in management and interaction, as well as team member empowerment on a multi-layer security system.

Bids will be received up to the hour of 10:00 AM local time, on Thursday, December 9, 2004. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.
Pre-Bid Conference
A pre-bid conference will be held in Room 111 Carr Residence Hall, 1001 W. Pennsylvania Ave., Urbana, IL at 9:00 a.m. prevailing time on Tuesday, November 23, 2004. Representatives of the owner and the professional services consultant will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
