The Board of Trustees of U of Illinois Facilities Planning and Programs hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the Mechanical Engineering Bldg CEMMS Clean Room Lab Remodeling project at the Urbana campus project.
Project Description
The project consists of: remodeling of an existing 1,600 square foot second floor space, including removal of existing CMU walls and partial mechanical and electrical systems; construction of new partitions, suspended clean room ceilings, vinyl sheet flooring, other finishes, new hollow metal doors, frames and window; new hardware; Mechanical work including new plumbing drains and piping, new air handling units with chiller, temperature control work, new ventilation distribution ductwork with HEPA filter system; new lighting, power and communications systems.

The bid documents may be obtained from Dean's Superior Blueprints by depositing a check in the amount of $75 for each set, payable to the Dean's Superior Blueprints.

Prequalification
Each bidder shall prequalify with the owner in accordance with the General Instructions to Bidders (Document 00200).
All bidders shall be prequalified with the owner. New bidders that are not prequalified shall prequalify using the owner's web-based Contractor Annual Prequalification System (CAPS)- http://notes.ocp.uiuc.edu:8888/
The project will be administered using the owner's web-based project management system. PRZM was developed to maximize the potential of the Internet in allowing project team members to access and exchange project information. PRZM supports team collaboration in management and interaction, as well as team member empowerment on a multi-layer security system.

Pre-Bid Meeting
A pre-bid meeting will be held in Room 143, Mechanical Engineering Building, 1206 West Green Street at 10:00 a.m. prevailing time on, Thursday, June 9, 2005. Representatives of the owner and the professional services consultant will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
