The Board of Trustees of U of Illinois Facilities Planning and Programs hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the the Bee Lab Facility project at the Urbana campus project.
Project Description
The project consists of construction of a new wood-framed, single story 94' x 42' building, in addition to two 8' x 8' apiary buildings. Work includes, but is not limited to, concrete work, wood framing and sheathing, fiber cement siding, wood windows, roofing work, interior finishes including metal frames, metal doors, gypsum board work, resilient flooring, suspended acoustical ceiling tile, painting, metal casework and accessories. Mechanical/Electrical work includes plumbing, fire protection, HVAC systems, new electrical service and power/lighting/communication and fire alarm work.
Note
The project will be administered using the owner's web-based project management system. PRZM was developed to maximize the potential of the Internet in allowing project team members to access and exchange project information. PRZM supports team collaboration in management and interaction, as well as team member empowerment on a multi-layer security system.

Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Friday, October 8, 2004. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.
Pre-Bid Meeting
A pre-bid conference will be held in Room #128, Physical Plant Services Building, 1501 S. Oak Street at 1:30 p.m. prevailing time on Wednesday, September 29, 2004. Representatives of the owner and the professional services consultant will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
