The Board of Trustees of U of Illinois Facilities Planning and Programs hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the the ESP Repair project at the Urbana campus (REBID) project.
Project Description
Design, manufacture, delivery and installation of electrostatic precipitator equipment and services for Boilers 6 and 7 at the Abbott Power Plant. Work includes, but is not limited to, following:
1. Rectifiers
2. Performance control systems
3. Fly ash storage hoppers
4. Rapper control system
5. Structural modifications to existing frame as needed
Alternate No. 1 consists of the design, manufacture, delivery and installation of electrostatic precipitator equipment and services for Boiler 5 at the Abbott Power Plant. Work includes, but is not limited to, items 1 thru 5 above.
This project includes a project labor agreement that will be executed between the lowest responsive/responsible bidder and the East Central Building & Construction Trades Council. A copy of the project labor agreement is included in the project bid documents, General Project Requirements.
The project will be administered using the owner's web-based project management system. PRZM was developed to maximize the potential of the Internet in allowing project team members to access and exchange project information. PRZM supports team collaboration in management and interaction, as well as team member empowerment on a multi-layer security system.

Bids will be received up to the hour of 3:00 PM local time, on Tuesday, October 19, 2004. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.
Pre-Bid Meeting:
A pre-bid meeting will be held in Room 155, Abbott Power Plant, 1117 South Oak Street, Champaign, Illinois at 3:00 p.m. prevailing time on Wednesday, October 6, 2004. Representatives of the owner and the professional services consultant will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
