The Board of Trustees of U of Illinois Facilities Planning and Programs hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the WILL Tower Renovation project at the Urbana-Champaign campus (Rebid) project.
Project Description
This project will consist of a 1,023 ft. tall, Guyed WILL FM/Television Transmission Tower.
The following work will be included in the WILL tower project: Tower remediation work, including the addition of secondary horizontals; guy pulloffs; guys (adding new and replacing existing); guy anchors; fencing and guy anchors (new and existing); painting of the tower; grounding; and other minor electrical wiring.
Bid Document Sources
Bid documents have been prepared by Hanson Professional Services, Inc., 1525 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL 62703, hereinafter referred to the professional services consultant. The bid documents may be obtained from them by depositing a check in the amount of $25 for each set, payable to them.

Prequalification
Each bidder shall prequalify with the owner in accordance with the General Instructions to Bidders (Document 00200).
All bidders shall be prequalified with the owner. New bidders that are not prequalified shall prequalify using the owner''s web-based Contractor Annual Prequalification System (CAPS)- http://notes.ocp.uiuc.edu:8888/
The project will be administered using the owner''s web-based project management system. PRZM was developed to maximize the potential of the Internet in allowing project team members to access and exchange project information. PRZM supports team collaboration in management and interaction, as well as team member empowerment on a multi-layer security system.

Pre-Bid Meeting
A pre-bid meeting will be held at the project site at 10:00 a.m. prevailing time on Tuesday, August 16, 2005. Representatives of the owner and the professional services consultant will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
