Project Description
Renovate five adjacent legacy racquetball courts located on the second floor of Student Center East into Student Services office and multi-use space. The new space will include private offices, tutoring rooms, a dividable conference room, and shared workspaces. Structural steel elements will be installed to facilitate hanging the new ceiling grid and ductwork. Architectural finishes include new furred walls, a glass curtain wall for the main entrance, LED lighting, and floor finishes.

Additionally, the existing AHU serving the space is past the end of its useful service life and will be replaced by this project. Installation of new AHU will be phased ? all mechanical and electrical scope items except the AHU will be installed first. New ductwork will connect to existing unit. New unit should be ordered at the onset of the project but installed during a Fall recess if installation cannot take place before August 5. Coordinate with Owner for available cutover schedule.

All ductwork serving the racquetball court area is to be demolished in entirety. Ductwork serving the other zones outside of the project scope will be selectively demolished up to and including the VAV terminal unit. New hot water reheat terminal units for the new space will be installed in the observation mezzanine adjacent to the new space and new terminal units serving existing zones will be installed in the main mechanical room. New mechanical equipment will be integrated into the campus building automation system.

Electrical will be upgraded as required to facilitate new electrical loads in the space and mechanical work. Technology scope includes networking and access controls at the (3) entries to the space.

A MANDATORY pre-bid meeting will be held in the White Oak Room of Student Center East, 3rd Floor, Room 330A located at 750 S. Halsted Street on 03/15/19 at 10:00 AM prevailing time. Representatives of the Owner and the Professional Services Consultant will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are REQUIRED to attend.
