Project Description
Burnham Hall is a 3-story classroom building located on UICs east campus at 828 S. Halsted Street. This project will renovate the 3rd floor and convert six classrooms into 3 medium-sized classrooms and 2 small-sized classrooms.

The demo scope of work includes demolishing existing fixed furniture in the corridor and classrooms, interior walls, room finishes and accessories, lighting, mechanical unit ventilators, and power and data cabling infrastructure.

New work will include installing new owner-furnished mechanical unit ventilators and light fixtures, electrical infrastructure, exhaust ductwork and roof mounted exhaust fans. In addition, fixed and powered tables (provided by furniture vendor) will be installed in the medium-sized lecture style rooms. The contractor will need to perform coring and electrical tie for the tables. New finishes and accessories will be provided including whiteboards, and acoustic paneling. A new ceiling system will be installed in the classrooms. The new work scope for the corridor includes cloud ceiling, flooring, and scheduled finishes.

In addition to the 3rd floor work summarized above, the building?s roof is to be replaced in entirety. A new 2-ply modified bitumen roof shall be provided that conforms to applicable energy codes. Existing curbs shall be extended to accommodate roof thickness requirements which will involve modifying ductwork (adding duct extensions) and electrical connections. This Project is located at: Burnham Hall, 828 S Halsted Street, Chicago, IL 60607

A MANDATORY pre-bid meeting will be held in Burnham Hall Building located at 828 S. Halsted Street, 2nd FL, Room 208 on 01/18/19 at 11:30 AM prevailing time.
