Project Description

Replace existing conventional hot water boilers with new condensing hot water boilers and upgrade the vent and flue systems for compatibility. There are (3) existing gas-fired heating hot water boilers that have been previously converted from a steam to hot water application and are at the end of their useful service life. This project will replace the boilers with new condensing hot water boilers and hot water distribution pumps, as well as piping modifications within the boiler room.

In addition to the base scope, there are three bid add-alternates. Alternate 1 is to provide an additional condensing boiler typical of the ones installed under the base scope. Alternate 2 is associated with the chilled water system and primarily includes replacing one of the existing decommissioned centrifugal chillers with a new mag bearing centrifugal chiller in the same location. Upgrades to the system chilled and condenser water pumps and piping layout within the chiller room and new makeup and exhaust ventilation are also included in this scope. Finally, Alternate 3 is to provide an upgraded refrigerant management and alarm system.

This Project is located at Art and Exhibition Hall, Basement Mechanical Room, 400 South Peoria Street, Chicago, IL.

A MANDATORY pre-bid meeting will be held on 01/21/21 at 10AM. See Zoom link and call-in information below.
