Project Description
Harrison Street between Morgan and Halsted Streets was recently improved to enhance pedestrian and bicycle safety by reducing vehicular traffic to one lane in each direction, adding bike lanes and installing a pedestrian crossing traffic signal at Peoria Street. Construction of new Housing and Academic Complex on the land north of Harrison Street will increase the pedestrian activity across Harrison Street. Additional traffic calming and complete street elements are required to further enhance pedestrian and bicycle safety. The project includes the following:

Provide raised intersection at Harrison Street and Morgan Street

Provide raise pedestrian crosswalk at Peoria Street

Provide flat re-colored concrete crosswalk at the west leg of the Harrison and Halsted Street intersection. Provide speed limit signs and install a flashing speed sign near the new colored crosswalk on the west side of this intersection.

The project is located at Harrison Street between Morgan Street and Halsted Street.

A MANDATORY pre-bid meeting will be held in PSB Bldg 963 - 1140 South Paulina Street, Room 243 on 02/20/19 at 11:30 AM prevailing time. Representatives of the Owner and the Professional Services Consultant will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are REQUIRED to attend.
