Project Description
This project consist of providing dual fuel capability to existing boilers Nos. 4,5,6 and future boiler No. 7, including demolition of the existing No.6 fuel oil pumps, piping, valves, pump control panel and controls and ancillary equipment. Existing steam piping, oil tank heaters and associated equipment shall be demolished and piping removed back to mains and capped. Pursuant to providing the dual fuel capability, demolish and replace the existing boiler controls, burner management systems and associated gas , fuel oil atomizing steam and igniter trains for boilers Nos. 4, 5 and 6. Provide all materials and labor to ensure a fully working turnkey boiler control system each for boilers Nos. 4, 5 and 6 that fully meets NFPA 85 Combustion Systems Hazards Code 2011 and successfully communicates with the existing University Building Management System. Provide Boiler No. 6 with a Predictive Emissions Monitoring System (PEMS) that meets compliance with 40 CFR Part 60 and PS16. The project also includes removal of the existing No. 6 fuel oil out of two 50,000 gallon tanks and thoroughly cleaning both tanks and associated piping for suitability for use of No. 2 fuel oil. Demolish and replace existing fuel oil pumps and fuel oil piping with a new duplex pump set and new associated piping. Refill existing tanks with No. 2 fuel oil. Start and test the new system. Refer to plans and specifications for the full extent of work included in this contract. Refer to Division 1, Section 00 40 00 of the specifications for a complete, detailed breakdown of the base bids and alternated for this project.
