Project Description
This project involves the reconfiguration of the building domestic water delivery system from an existing gravity fed system to a variable-volume mechanically-controlled pressurized system due to the change in building occupancy and function from dormitory to offices.

The hot and cold water gravity feed tanks in the penthouse will be removed in entirety, and the domestic hot water heaters and system booster pumps in the basement will be replaced with new equipment. There are three clusters of dorm-style showers on each typical floor (4-8). This project will demolish the shower liners, domestic water connections, sanitary and vent services, and mechanical exhaust back to the riser mains and physically enclose the space. Additionally, there are some ancillary considerations, including terminating unused laundry room plumbing and mechanical services, and University-performed enabling work prior to construction.

This project will take place in an active office building and disruptions to the occupants will be important to mitigate as much as possible.

This Project is located at: Student Residence Hall SRH, 818 S Wolcott Ave, Chicago IL
