Project Description
This project includes the replacement of an existing MRI with a new machine (provided under separate contract) to meet the evolving mission of the clinic. The equipment replacement and upgrade are accompanied by a general renovation of the MRI room including new millwork and finishes, a revised ceiling plane, and construction of a penetration panel enclosure and cable management components within the room. Structural support and roof modifications are required to accept a vendor-furnished MRI chiller. Additional structural considerations will be required in the loading dock to accommodate the weight of the MRIs.
There will be additional general conditions associated with working in the clinic because it will remain active during construction. Contractors will be required to adhere to the University's Infection Control Risk Assessment procedures requirements. Some specific tasks will be moved to afterhours schedules in order to lessen noise and vibration disruptions to the clinic this will be addressed through an Owners Allowance.
This Project is located at: Outpatient Care Center (OCC), Suite 1A, MRI #2, 1801 W Taylor Street, Chicago, IL.
