The project specific prequalifications due date has been changed to 4:00 p.m. on May 15, 2013.

Project Description
Replacement of three (3) food service cart lifts with two (2) new passenger elevators serving Concourse Level through 8th Floor in Building 949 – University of Illinois Medical Center (UIMC) at 1740 West Taylor Street in Chicago; including demolition of existing cart lift equipment & existing steel divider beams & installation of new controls, motors, traction machines, cab enclosures, cabling, car doors, & door operators. New controls to be provided with Phase 1 & 2 firefighters operation per current life safety code requirements including an elevator recall system & Infant Floor Protection Operation. New divider beams will be installed at each floor & in overhead. Additional structural modifications include steel supports for new elevator machines, new sump pit & pit slab, new door lintels, & reinforcing for existing hoistway walls & elevator machine room framing to accommodate new elevator loading. Car operating panels, hall pushbutton stations, & all signal fixtures to be provided in compliance with ADA. Construction of new entrance walls will be required at each elevator lobby, including new frames & doors & rework of existing ceilings & floor finishes to accommodate new entrances. Patch & paint. New electrical feeders to be provided from both normal & emergency sources to new elevators. New electrical equipment & devices will be added in pit & in elevator machine room to support new electrical installations. New fire alarm devices to be provided, installed & integrated into existing fire alarm system for elevator recall. New card access devices & infrastructure to be added in elevator lobbies & tied into existing card access system. New security cameras to be added & tied back into existing security camera system.
