Project Description
The project is a multi-phased renovation of approximately 7,500 SF of the front half of the Emergency Department to provide better patient flow including new Waiting, Reception, Triage, Nurse Station, Treatment Areas (Fast Track, Pediatric and Isolation), Check-Out and Support spaces. The Emergency Department will remain in full operation 24 hours a day, 365 days a year during all phases of construction. Demolition work includes partitions, casework, doors, ceilings, finishes, mechanical distribution, plumbing, fire protection, medical gas, lighting, electrical power and data. New construction includes new partitions, doors, frames, hardware, millwork, windows, flooring, ceiling, finishes, and fire protection. Treatment areas will include new medical gas and owner provided headwalls. Electrical work includes new ceiling mounted exam lights, general lighting, power, and data throughout the renovated area. Modifications to security system and fire alarm system will be required. Plumbing work includes new sinks and toilet rooms. Mechanical work includes new distribution throughout the renovated area as well as new exhaust to serve isolation areas.

A MANDATORY pre-bid meeting will be held in the University of Illinois Hospital, Room 1135, 1st Floor, located at 1740 W. Taylor Street, Chicago, Illinois on 06/28/16 at 1:30 PM prevailing time. All prospective bidders are REQUIRED to attend.
