Project DescriptionThe project will include the following:
- New installation of above lay-in ceiling air conditioning air handler units and remote liquid coolers mounted on roof.
- New chilled glycol/water, cold water make-up, and refrigeration piping systems.
- New air distribution ductwork and devices.
- Air conditioning equipment temperature controls system.
- New electrical circuits for new air conditioning equipment.
- Lay-in ceiling removal and reinstallation.
- Demolition and capping of existing ductwork, grilles, and diffusers as shown on drawings.
- Relocation of existing VAV Box and Thermostat as shown on drawings.
- Balancing of air systems within work area.

Bid Document Sources
Bid documents have been prepared by HDR Engineering, Inc., 5201 South Sixth Street Road, Springfield, Illinois 62703, the professional services consultant. The bid documents may be obtained from them by depositing a check in the amount of $50 for each set, payable to the professional services consultant OR non-cash plan deposit programs which are guaranteed by contractor associations are acceptable.

Prequalification
Each bidder shall pre-qualify with the owner in accordance with the General Instructions to Bidders (Document 00200).
All bidders shall be pre-qualified with the owner. New bidders that are not pre-qualified shall pre-qualify using the owner's web-based Contractor Annual Prequalification System (CAPS)- http://przm.apps.uillinois.edu/
Pre-Bid Meeting
A pre-bid meeting will be held in location at 10:00 a.m. prevailing time on July 08, 2008. Representatives of the owner and the professional services consultant will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
Bid Opening
Immediately after the July 15, 2008 closing time for receiving bids (2:00 p.m.), all proposals will be publicly opened, read, and tabulated at University of Illinois at Springfield, Business Services Building room BSB 31. Noted errors, omissions, and defects will be announced. Bids received after closing time will be returned unopened. The public opening and reading is for information only and is not construed as acceptance or rejection of any bid.
Bid Acceptance or Rejection
The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any part thereof, to waive any informalities in the bidding, and to accept the bids deemed to be in the best interests of the owner after all bids have been examined and evaluated.
Statutory Requirements
The successful bidder will be required to comply with all laws, statutes, regulations, ordinances, rulings or enactments of any governmental authority that are applicable to the work or to the project. The successful bidder shall pay prevailing wages and shall utilize equal employment opportunity hiring practices in connection with this project.
