Project Description
This project involves the construction of 5 (21,000 +/- SF total) pre-engineered, panelized wall, buildings. Concrete foundations and slab-on grade floors with integral curb at exterior wall. It includes associated plumbing, mechanical and electrical work and site development of approximately 8 acres, currently farm land. Site utilities development, auxiliary generator, and crushed stone driveways into site and connection buildings are also included.

The owner shall assign the contracts for Contract Division 2-Plumbing Work; Division 3-Heating Work; Division 4-Ventilation Work; and Division 5-Electrical Work to the Contract Division 1 (General Contractor) in accordance with Article 6.2 of the General Conditions. (Refer to Articles 6.2 and 15 of the General Conditions for requirements concerning assignments of contracts.)
This project includes a project labor agreement that will be executed between the lowest responsive/responsible bidder and the East Central Building & Construction Trades Council. A copy of the project labor agreement is included in the project bid documents, General Project Requirements.
This project will be managed using the owner's web-based Construction Project Management System "PRZM."

Bid documents have been prepared by Moorhead - Gruber Architects, 495 Devonshire Drive, Champaign, IL 61820, (217) 356-3414, the professional services consultant. The bid documents may be obtained from them by depositing a check in the amount of $50 for each set, payable to them.

Pre-Bid Meeting
A pre-bid meeting will be held Room 143 Physical Plant Service Building 1501 S. Oak Street Champaign, IL prevailing time on Tuesday November 28, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Representatives of the owner and the professional services consultant will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
Bid Opening
Immediately after the closing time for receiving bids, all proposals will be publicly opened, read, and tabulated at Room 143 Physical Plant Service Building 1501 S. Oak Street Champaign, IL on Wednesday December 6, 2006 and at Room 128 Physical Plant Service Building 1501 S. Oak Street Champaign, IL on Thursday December 7, 2006. Noted errors, omissions and defects will be announced. Bids received after closing time will be returned unopened. The public opening and reading is for information only and is not construed as acceptance or rejection of any bid.
Bid Acceptance or Rejection
The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any part thereof, to waive any informalities in the bidding, and to accept the bids deemed to be in the best interests of the owner after all bids have been examined and evaluated.

The successful bidder will be required to comply with all laws, statutes, regulations, ordinances, rulings or enactments of any governmental authority that are applicable to the work or to the project.
